Al oeste del Pecos

Any narrative has three identifiable parts: an introduction or beginning, a climax and a denouement or ending. Stage-based works share at least two of these, they have an introduction and an ending. Apart from operating as a container that holds the work within it, these structural codes are, in the worst of cases, formal limits that reduce the work rather than adding to its complexity. Obviously, there has to be a brief moment at which the spectator comes face to face with the work. The difference is how it is in the questioning and the way in which this inevitable principle is used.

Al oeste del Pecos is a bit like a map or a model, where the reduced scale allows inmediate projection within. This similarity implies doing without a beginning - any beginning - but also any ending: to enter and leave in the middle.
Through this work I want to create a space in which unconnected narratives can temporarily coexist. Because it's a non-linear narration, the audience is always projected inside a story with an unknown beginning, situated on the boundary between gesture and language.
