Masu Fajardo

Santa Cruz de Tenerife, 1978.
She studied classical and contemporary dance in the Performing Arts Center of Teatro Victoria of Santa Cruz, History of Art at the University of La Laguna and a Masters in Cultural Management at the University of Alcalá de Henares. In 2002 and 2003 she received a student grant from the insular government for further studies art abroad (stays in Lisbon with REAL and Amsterdam (Intensive course SNDO, PIA, and Henny Jurriëns Foundation). With his first work (2001) she wins the price of young performer at the International Choreographic Competition IXMasdanza. In Barcelona she has worked with independent choreographers highlighting her collaboration with Carmelo Salazar in his investigation lo natural es moverse (2005-2008). She has participated in specific projects as el cuerpo Próximo with Olga Mesa (Strasbourg 2006) or Mugatxoan 2008 (Arteleku-Serralves Foundation, Oporto). Between 2007 to 2010 she worked as an interpreter for co. Konic thtr (interactive multimedia languages) in various national and international festivals.

As an independent artist she has developed her own work since 2002 in collaboration with structures in Barcelona and Canary Islands. Some of her works include Coming throught (La Porta 54, Barcelona), Crazy (Carta Blanca El Hueco, Grand Canary), Espacio Triple sonoro para una sustancia física inconcreta (La Porta, espacio cómodo'06), among others. Since 2009 she works in Microficciones, como desaparecer en escena (Microfictions, how to disappear on stage) an amorphous and diverse project where performance is a far more intense exhibition within a larger work space that passes through text, video installation, exhibitions and workshops.

She is currently working on Microficciones (Las reglas del juego) (Microfictions, The rules of the game) where she shares the grounds of her work with a group of artists (with the support of A ras de Suelo, La Poderosa and Antic Teatre) and she collaborates with elclimamola.doc (space for documentation: body and performing arts).
